Removable Silicone Gel for Re-Enterable Electrical Connections

STEP-M3 is a two-component, removable silicone potting compound developed primarily for sealing electrical distribution and junction boxes. The gel cures at ambient temperature and remains flexible, helping protect electrical connections while allowing access for inspection, repair or maintenance.

When access is required, the cured material can be removed manually or with a standard cutting tool. It is designed to come away in larger pieces rather than crumbling into small fragments. After servicing, the connection can be resealed by adding more compound. The two components are supplied in separate containers, so only the amount needed can be mixed.

Key Benefits

Designed for repairable sealing of electrical junction boxes.
Can support an IP68 protection level in a properly designed and tested enclosure.
Remains elastic after curing.
Can be removed by hand.
Enables re-sealing after maintenance by adding fresh material.
Convenient 10:1 mixing ratio by weight.
Two separately packed components allow partial-batch preparation.
Operating temperature range: -60°C to +120°C.

Typical Applications

Electrical distribution and junction boxes.
Repairable sealing of electrical connections.
Outdoor or demanding electrical installations where moisture protection and future access are required, subject to enclosure design and testing.
