STEP-M1 High-Temperature Silicone Potting Compound

High-Performance Protection for Electrical Connections

Protect critical electrical connections with STEP-M1 Silicone Potting Compound, a two-component silicone encapsulation material developed for electrical assemblies exposed to moisture, condensation, dust, and demanding temperature conditions.

Designed for applications where environmental protection and future serviceability are important, STEP-M1 combines silicone-based sealing with the potential for subsequent access to encapsulated connections when maintenance or component replacement is necessary.

With a manufacturer-specified operating temperature range of −60°C to +200°C, STEP-M1 is intended for electrical installations that require thermal performance across a wide range of operating conditions.

Key Product Benefits

Wide operating temperature range: Specified for operation from −60°C to +200°C.
Moisture and dust protection: Helps protect electrical connections against environmental exposure.
Repair-friendly encapsulation: The cured compound can be removed when access to connections is required.
Two-component formulation: Designed for preparation at a 10:1 mixing ratio by weight.
IP68 protection capability: Specified for correctly designed and applied assemblies.
Versatile electrical applications: Suitable for selected junction boxes, cable connections, lighting systems, and electrical equipment.

Recommended Applications

Outdoor Electrical Connections

Help protect electrical connections in outdoor distribution boxes, auxiliary power installations, and landscape lighting systems exposed to rain and condensation.

Cable Joints and Branch Connections

Encapsulate selected conductor joints and branch connections to help reduce the risk of moisture reaching electrical contacts.

Lighting and Electrical Equipment

Use in suitable architectural lighting, industrial lighting, and electrical assemblies where environmental sealing is required.

Humid and Condensation-Prone Environments

Consider STEP-M1 for electrical connections in utility rooms, pump rooms, basements, and other locations where moisture exposure is a concern.

Electrical Assemblies Requiring Maintenance

For equipment that may require troubleshooting or component replacement, the ability to remove the cured compound can be a practical advantage over permanent rigid encapsulation systems.
